Richard Parker is Pi. Pi has a split personality and is telling two sides of his mind without mentioning it. Pi is the boy who studied different religions and went to school and was made fun of until he made a name for his self. Richard Parker is the animal he made the tiger to be which is the other side of Pi.

The life pi was a great book. It was a very interesting story I enjoyed it very much. The first 100 pages was basically about his life. The beginning of the story is a tragic event. He first starts off talking about what he studied. He studied Zoology and religion. He studied this because he felt as if the two subjects went together. He has tried out many different religions such as chritianity, muslim, and others. He also talks about how he was stuck on a boat with all types of animals and how he didn't know what to feel about the fact of if he should be afraid or not. He takes us back to a time when he was little and his father tried to show him that animals were not your friend. His father lets him see the 450 something pound tiger eat a goat. Pi's mother was scared to see stuff that horrible. Pi also tells us how he got his name he was always picked on by the other kids because his name was to long and complex to understand so he made it shorter..
